Step 3: Prepare & Drop Off Your Items

In order to ensure a smooth drop-off, please do the following things BEFORE you arrive in the building to drop off your items:

• Make sure all items are properly tagged according to our tagging guidelines.

• Sort clothing by gender and size.

• Come to the Davis Building at the WNC Ag Center during open drop-off times (see full sale schedule).  We encourage consignors to sign up for a drop off appointment so that we can spread out the flow and ensure a smooth experience for everyone and manage some of the crowds.  IF YOU CANNOT MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME however, JUST COME DURING THE OPEN DROP OFF HOURS. You do not need to e-mail us, as we will simply reply with – “Come when you can, during drop-off hours! Make sure you get checked in by a staff member or your items won’t scan.  You will get your pre-sale wristband at check-in!”

• When you arrive at the WNC Ag Center, you will need to bring all your clothing items first into the main entry to the Davis Center Building (rear entrance will be locked).  Having wagons, wheels to help carry large loads is encouraged.  Your clothing should be organized prior to arrival by size and gender. For teen clothing, please sort by clothing type (tops, pants, etc.). Using a ribbon tied around groups of hangers or separate sizes with clean trash bags repurposed as garment bags for each size is a great way to stay organized between your home and the Ag Center. We will have rolling clothing racks for your use once inside the entry hall if one is needed to organize your clothing before check-in. 

• Please fill out the Check-in Form on one of the computers in the main hallway if you haven’t had a chance to do it via the email link.

• With clothing organized, proceed to the check-in desk where your inventory will be activated and you will receive your presale wristbands. After checking in, you will place your clothing on rolling racks by size and gender at the front of the sales floor.  Consignors will not place clothing on the main clothing racks. Staff will inspect the clothes before they are placed on the sales racks after you leave.  Items not accepted due to quality will be given back to you or donated at the end of the sale.

• Once dropping off clothing, consignors will place all other items on the sale floor with assistance from the Busy Bee Team. It will take approx. 1 hr/100 items. Follow-up trips (after checking in) to put out non-clothing items may occur through the side door by the restaurant. Please note that wagons and bags will be checked on your way out. 

• IMPORTANT: All consignors must be checked in 30 minutes before the close of drop off. A $25 fee will be charged for any items abandoned by the consignor and not placed on the sales floor in appropriate locations.
• **PLEASE NOTE: IF AN ITEM’S PRICE TAG is $40 or MORE it MUST be given an LARGE ITEM TAG & CHECKED IN WITH STAFF to be PROTECTED DURING THE SALE.  

• Inspection occurs after drop-off so make sure you only bring accepted items.
